Crochet Merlion Amigurumi
I got some inspo to make a Merlion right after I saw mrmerlion_official's IG.
Patterns kept popping in my head even as I was working on another project, I had to pause and start on this.
Supplies & Tools
| Yarn | Hobbii Cotton Rainbow 8/4 - 23g |
| Hook | 2.5mm |
| Hardware | 5mm Safety Eyes × 2 |
| Size | 8 × 11 cm |
In comparison to the pattern I followed in 2019, this definitely has more features. But honestly, when it's all white, the details are not too obvious. 😅
I also made it in a very weird sequence...
first the arms..
then the tail to the bottom..
and then work up the body from where I left the tail..
attaching the arms before moving on to the head... (did I mention this is a no-sew?)
crocheted the ears right from the head..
make a mane.. and then some hair... both glued on.. and ta-da~
I do not have confidence to provide a written pattern that is comprehensible. 😂 I might have to support it with videos, which sounds like too much work... 🤔
let me sleep on it... 😴
After sleeping on it for a few nights, I actually decided to go ahead on making a video for it.
Supplies & Tools
| Yarn | 5-ply Combed Cotton Yarn - 41g |
| Hook | 3.25mm |
| Hardware | 9mm Safety Eyes × 2 |
| Size | 10.5 × 14 cm |

The stitches & techniques used are not difficult but I think it contains too many elements in a single project it feels intimidating…
So I used a heavier yarn and different colours to differentiate each component in the video.
Do not be alarmed by:
- the unconventional ways I approach some stitches
- some weird tricks or habits of mine (like using 2 hooks)
