Abbreviations (US)

CH Chain
DC Double Crochet
FHDC Foundation Half Double Crochet
HDC Half Double Crochet
LpSC Loop Single Crochet
SC Single Crochet
YO Yarn Over
*A* × B Repeat “A” for a number of B times
( 𝑥 ) Work all of “𝑥” in ONE stitch

LpSC - Back

  • Insert hook,
  • go around the (working) yarn in front & pick up the (tension) yarn behind {Pic. 1}
  • pull through stitch
  • YO, and pull through 2 loops
The loops will be on the wrong side

LpSC - Front

  • Pull down the feeding loop
  • Push yarn to the right & insert hook {Pic. 2}
  • YO, pull through
  • YO, and pull through 2 loops
The loops will be on the right side facing you.

Multiples

  • FHDC up to preferred length, or
  • CH up to preferred length (+1)

Pattern

Turn after each row.

Base

  • FHDC up to preferred length, or

  • Working in back bumps of CH,
  • HDC in 2nd CH from hook

Repeat

1.
  • CH 1
  • LpSC in each stitch across
2.
  • CH 1
  • HDC in each stitch across

Variant

  • Size of loop is adjustable by finger controlling the feeding yarn
  • For Repeat: Row 2, use SC for denser loops, use DC for sparser loops.
  • For very thick patches, alternate the front & back loops stitches for each row
