Changes

The pattern is very customizable. I changed the binding to 48 rows, so when I worked the palm section from the side, I would crochet 3 stitches every 4 rows to match the initial 36 stitches as the pattern.

I followed almost exactly the rest of the pattern for the palm (except adjusting to increasing exactly at mid-round) and luckily it fitted well. As a personal practice to use slightly larger hooks as my tension tends to be tighter, I used a 3.25mm hook for my first attempt but it was way too loose for me so I switched back to 3.0mm.

I added 2 rows for my pinky to accommodate my long nails.

For the index & thumb holes, I shifted them a row further. I kept wearing them throughout the work to ensure everything was in place.

Changes

To avoid too much math issue, I used the largest hook compatible for the yarn and luckily it worked. For the most part, I followed the same basis as the pattern but I did sit with le hubby and had him do the fitting every few rounds. It did take a while since I only have him at night or on the weekends.

Added 2 rounds of PALM

Our fingers split at different heights, try to ensure the PALM reaches the highest split point.

Added stitches for the THUMB

Instead of “CH 2 & skip 3”, I did “CH 3 & skip 12”, the stitches for the base knuckle would remain the same while the THUMB is increased by 2.

Fortunately, the fingers girth all fitted well for him, so I do not have tips to adjust them.
