Repeat Row 2 to preferred bag height

Levelling

To bring stitches to the same height before making & attaching to the base.

TIP: if you are crocheting the bag base and not using a leather/PVC one, and is unsure if the stitches will match, make the base first.
The stitches for each repeat can range from 10 to 14 though any above 12 may overcrowd the stitches.
Since I had 10 flowers in a row; I tried to make the base in multiplication of 10. And when the base worked up to fit the bag, it was 10 rounds of 10 hence I tried to make the levelling in repeats of 10 as well.

  • Do not work in the CH
  • Start from the petal that has no links
    • Attach to 2nd DC,
    • SC in same & next stitch {only work in these 2 stitches for this petal}, skip the 4th DC,
    • CH 1,
    • Move on to next petal of same flower
      • HDC, DC, ex-DC, skip last DC
    • Move on to next petal of next flower
      • skip first DC, ex-DC, DC, HDC
    • CH 1
  • Total 10 stitches each repeat
You can work in the stitches I skipped if you need more than 10 each repeat.
Round Stitches Count
1 *2 SC, CH 1, HDC, DC, ex-DC, ex-DC, DC, HDC, CH 1* × 10 100
2 SC in each stitch & space 100
3-4 SC in each stitch 100

Use the same method to level the top of the bag; work RSC for the last round instead or skip levelling all together for a fancy scallop edge.

I worked the D-rings into the 2nd round of levelling; you may have to sew them on the flowers if you skipped the top levelling.

Base

6 *2 HDC, INC, 2 HDC* × 10 60
7 *INC, 5 HDC* × 10 70
8 *3 HDC, INC, 3 HDC* × 10 80
9 *7 HDC, INC* × 10 90
10 *4 HDC, INC, 4 HDC* × 10 100

Bag Base before attachment: 15cm
Leave a long tail for attachment. I used the whip stitch.

Strap

{Yarn Held Triple}
Made using romanian cord, added 30cm to my usual 100cm for tying adjustable sliding knots to clasps.

I used a bucket bag insert that came with drawstrings.
